Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Design and Display

Samsung’s two new tablets look the same as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and Tab S9 Plus do. Utilizing Armor Aluminum, they are sleek and lightweight for their dimensions, once again positioning themselves as the best alternative to the Apple iPad. There’s IP68 dust and water resistance on deck, so you can use these wherever you want.

The dimensions of the two tablets are pretty similar to the Galaxy Tab S9 series: the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra measures 326.4 x 208.6 x 5.4mm and weighs 718gr (Wi-Fi) or 723gr (5G), while the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus is 285.4 x 185.4 x 5.6mm big and weighs 571gr (Wi-Fi) or 576gr (5G).

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra once again features a notched display. The notch houses dual 12MP front cameras. If you don’t want your tablet to have a notch, you can get the single-camera Galaxy Tab S10 Plus.

Both devices come with an S Pen stylus in the box that can magnetically attach itself to the tablet to get charged. Each tablet features quad speakers.

Both tablets are available in Moonstone Gray and Platinum Silver colors.

Display-wise, the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus comes with a 12.4-inch AMOLED 2X display, which strikes a pretty good balance between screen size and portability. The behemoth Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra comes with a 14.6-inch AMOLED 2X screen, a truly large slate that’s nearly as big as most laptop screens.

Both displays offer up to 120Hz refresh rate and sport the new Anti Reflection coating that debuted on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which eliminates unwanted reflections and boosts display legibility. Both tablets have in-display fingerprint scanners.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Battery

The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra comes with a truly massive 11,200mAh battery, while the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus has a 10,090mAh. If those values sound familiar, that’s because they are the same as the Galaxy Tab S9 series ones. Charging-wise, both tablets support 45W wired charging.

Galaxy Tab S10 Hardware and Specs

For the first time in years, Samsung doesn’t rely on a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Instead, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ is used. This chipset features a prime Cortex-X4 chip clocked at 3.4GHz, triple 2.85GHz Cortex-X4 performance cores, and finally, quad Cortex-A720 cores running at 2GHz.

Samsung says the new chip delivers some notable performance gains: 18% increase in CPU productivity, 28% better GPU performance, and 14% boost in NPU calculations, which boost the AI performance of the two tablets.

Both devices are available with 12GB of RAM, but the top-of-the-line 1TB version of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra arrives with 16GB of RAM.

On the connectivity front, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra gets the faster and newer Wi-Fi 7 standard while the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus only comes with Wi-Fi 6E, so potentially slower data speeds. Both get Bluetooth 5.3, though. You can also get either device with 5G connectivity, and that will cost you extra.

Galaxy Tab S10 Features and Software

TheSamsung Galaxy Tab S10 arrive with One UI 6 and Android 14. One UI 7 is also surely coming, and we expect that it will be based on Android 15.

Just like all of Samsung’s flagship devices, Galaxy AI plays a big part of the Galaxy Tab S10 series’ overall appeal.

The Note Assist and intuitive S Pen make note-taking easy on the tablet’s large display, with automated transcriptions and summaries powered by AI. The tablet also supports PDF Overlay Translation for translating PDFs directly on-screen, while Handwriting Help cleans up messy handwritten notes. The Sketch to Image feature turns rough sketches into refined images, aiding creativity. Circle to Search allows users to search for information, translate content, or solve math and physics problems without switching apps.

Lastly, the S Pen’s Air Command and Galaxy AI Key offer quick access to AI features, allowing users to toggle between Bixby and Google’s Gemini for a personalized AI experience.

Moreover, thanks to a new feature dubbed 3D Map View, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S10 Plus are perfectly suited to act as hubs for all your SmartThings-enabled devices thanks to the SmartThings widget.

Samsung also stresses that a slew of premium third-party apps can run well on the Galaxy Tab S10 series: Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Noteshelf3, Clip Studio Paint, PicsArt and Sketchbook.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra upgrades you might have missed

The Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra feature an identical design to their predecessors. Samsung has made them marginally slimmer and lightweight — around 10 grams lighter. The screens remain unchanged at 12.4 inches and 14.6 inches. These are the same panels found on 2023 models. However, Samsung now offers an anti-reflective coating over the display assembly.

It’s a revolutionary tech first seen on the Galaxy S24 series. The coating massively reduces screen glare and improves visibility under light. You can comfortably use the new tablets outdoors. Elsewhere, Samsung’s new tablets feature a MediaTek chipset instead of Qualcomm. The Dimensity 9300+ offers identical raw performance to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, so this hardly makes a difference.

The RAM amount and storage capacity remain unchanged, and so do the cameras. The official durability ratings also remain the same, though the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra boast an Enhanced Armor aluminum body. Camera hardware and features, AKG-tuned quad stereo speakers, battery capacity, charging speed, under-display fingerprint scanner, and connectivity features are unchanged too. However, the new tablets bring notable software upgrades. They arrive with Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 and support the full Galaxy AI suite. You get AI features like Math Calculator, Note Assist, Sketch to Image, Browsing Assist, Generative Edit, Live Translate, Handwriting Help, Circle to Search, Air Command, Portrait Studio, Instant Slo-mo, Interpreter, Generative Wallpapers, and more.
